Currency converter
Convert between major currencies using the European Central Bank's daily reference rates.
Rates are the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, for information only. The rate your bank applies to an actual transaction may differ.
Reference rates, per 1 euro
Indicative reference rates. The converter above fetches the latest daily rates.
Where the rates come from
The converter uses the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, the same rates published for the euro against major currencies each working day. They are reference rates, not the price a bank or card will give you, which carries a spread on top. For bookkeeping, the ECB rate is the usual basis for converting a foreign invoice or receipt to euro on the date of the transaction.
The ECB publishes its reference rates once each working day, in the afternoon Central European time. There is no update at weekends or on its holidays, so a Saturday conversion uses Friday's rate. If the live feed is ever unavailable, the converter falls back to a recent snapshot and says so.
