Comparison
Pileform vs TaxItEasy: receipts for your advisor, or entries for your ledger.
TaxItEasy is a receipt and invoice app from Paphos for EU freelancers, small businesses and German expats: photograph a receipt or forward an email, it reads the document, matches it to bank transactions and exports it for your tax advisor. Pileform is built for the practice on the other side of that hand-off. It takes the whole period's pile, decides the VAT on every line, and posts reviewed entries into Xero, QuickBooks, Business Central, BTMS or Esoft, with a workbook you keep.
Pileform is a TaxItEasy alternative for practices posting clients' books into a ledger. Choose TaxItEasy if you are a freelancer or small business sending receipts to a tax advisor: a free plan of 10 documents a month, phone and email capture, bank matching and a DATEV export. Choose Pileform if the pile must reach Xero or QuickBooks with VAT decided per line.
A capture app solves the freelancer's side: the receipt is photographed before it fades and the advisor gets an export. The practice still has the other side: forty clients' documents, some in Greek, some from other EU countries, that have to become posted entries in whichever ledger each client uses, with the VAT right on every line.
Pileform takes the pile exactly as it arrives, in up to eleven languages, computes the VAT per line across Cyprus and 54 other jurisdictions, and hands back reviewed entries for the ledger the books live in.
Where Pileform differs
The batch, the VAT, and the ledger.
We are not trying to be a better receipt app for one person's phone. We are trying to remove the typing between a client's paperwork and the ledger, for a practice with many clients.
The whole period at once.
Drop one long PDF of mixed pages, or a folder of scans. Pileform separates the documents, groups them by supplier, and reconciles every total in integer cents.
Per-line VAT, 55 jurisdictions.
All five Cyprus rates, 3% included, decided per line; reverse charge detected from the invoice wording; inclusive and exclusive pricing recognised in eleven languages; foreign invoices checked against their own jurisdiction.
A workbook you keep.
One Excel tab per supplier with the original document embedded as proof, plus the journal entries tab. Yours whatever happens to the subscription.
Posts into the ledger you already use.
Xero, QuickBooks Online and Desktop, Business Central, BTMS and Esoft, chosen per company, after you review. TaxItEasy exports for an advisor; Pileform posts into ledgers.
Computed, never guessed.
Every figure is produced by deterministic code. A rate that is not printed is inferred and flagged yellow for review, never applied silently.
Which to choose
Where TaxItEasy genuinely has the edge.
Choose TaxItEasy if…
You are a freelancer, a small business or a German expat who wants receipts off your phone and into a tidy export for your tax advisor. It has a free plan of 10 documents a month with no card and no expiry; you can photograph a receipt, forward an email, or let it read a Gmail, Outlook or IMAP mailbox for invoices; it issues sales invoices with sequential numbering, matches documents to bank transactions, converts foreign currency at ECB rates and exports in the DATEV format a German Steuerberater expects. For a handful of documents a month, sent by one person to one advisor, that is a better fit than a practice tool.
Choose Pileform if…
You are the practice receiving the paperwork, not the person sending it; your clients' books live in Xero, QuickBooks, Business Central, BTMS or Esoft; the pile arrives as a period at a time, mixes languages, Greek included, or VAT jurisdictions; or you need an audit workbook with the source embedded and roles that keep posting with the owner.

Running both
The client snaps; the practice posts.
There is nothing to migrate, because the two sit on different sides of the hand-off. A client can keep photographing receipts into TaxItEasy; the practice drops the documents it receives into Pileform, reviews the flagged lines and posts to the client's ledger. There is no live connection between the two.
Pileform vs TaxItEasy: common questions.
For a practice, yes; for a freelancer with ten receipts a month, probably not. TaxItEasy is a capture app that prepares records and an export for your tax advisor. Pileform is the processing layer a practice uses to turn a client's whole period into posted entries in Xero, QuickBooks, Business Central, BTMS or Esoft, with the VAT decided per line.
No. TaxItEasy says on its own site that it does not submit the VAT return, on purpose, and leaves filing to your accountant. Pileform prepares a VAT return draft from the posted books for a person to check and submit on Tax For All; it never files or submits anything itself.
Pileform does: the web app, the desktop app and the mobile preview are in Greek and English, and Greek-script documents are read as printed, with their line descriptions kept in Greek. TaxItEasy's site and app listing were in English when we checked on 30 September 2026, and we found no Greek interface described.
Pileform. TaxItEasy exports for a tax advisor, in DATEV format among others, and we found no posting into Xero or QuickBooks described; Pileform posts Bills, journals and double-entry bank transactions into both, with Cyprus VAT decided per line first.
